Yerba Buena Island ResidentialLOCATION: San Francisco, CA
OWNER: Wilson Meany/Stockbridge Real Estate Funds ARCHITECT: Hart Howerton, BDE Architects, Aidlin Darling, Meyer Davis, Edmonds + Lee CONTRACTOR: Cahill Contractors & Fisher Construction PROJECT SIZE: 262 Units of Multi-family and Townhomes, a Clubhouse Building START DATE: June 2019 |
In 2017, KASA Partners was engaged by Wilson Meany to provide senior project management for the first 262 units of for-sale housing on Yerba Buena made up of 3 different land lots and 27 separate buildings. The product type was high-end attached townhomes, several mid-rise buildings, and one large multi-family building. Prior to this responsibility, KASA was integrated into a larger project management team overseeing the design and permit approvals for the horizontal infrastructure of the streets and parks on YBI.
KASA primarily managed Wilson Meany’s internal project managers in the design and permitting phase of the project. During this time, KASA co-managed 5 different architects, up to 40 sub-consultants, and 2 pre-construction contractors. Management included solicitation for proposals, negotiation and administration of contracts, and management of budgets. We reported directly to the client, where we would make recommendations to assist them in making important decisions.
We worked with the contractors to evaluate means and methods of construction and recommended value engineering solutions when it was necessary. In late 2018, KASA concluded its involvement with the negotiation and finalization of the construction contract for the 124-unit podium building.
